One Inspector. Every Inspection.
There’s no team at Texas Pro Home Inspection. There’s me. I’m Ricky Ray, and I’m the person who answers the phone, shows up at the house, climbs into the attic, opens the panel, runs the sewer camera, writes the report, and walks you through it before I leave. If you book an inspection with Texas Pro, you know exactly who’s doing it and who’s standing behind it.
I set it up that way on purpose. Bigger inspection companies send whoever’s available, and the person who writes your report may not be the person who was in the crawlspace. When it’s one inspector, nothing gets lost in a handoff. The crack I saw in the brick, the belly I saw on the sewer video, and the door that wouldn’t latch all live in the same head, and they get connected in the same report.
Credentials
I’m a TREC-licensed Professional Real Estate Inspector (License #22916), the higher of the two license levels the Texas Real Estate Commission issues, and a Certified Master Inspector®, which requires a documented record of at least a thousand inspections and years in the business. I carry general liability and errors and omissions insurance.
- TREC Professional Real Estate Inspector, License #22916
- Certified Master Inspector®
- Certified residential thermographer — infrared scanning on every inspection
- Licensed wood-destroying insect (termite) inspector
- Insured for general liability and errors & omissions
- More than 5,000 inspections since founding Texas Pro Home Inspection in January 2018
Those 5,000 inspections cover Fort Worth, Tarrant County, and the DFW area, on everything from 1920s pier-and-beam bungalows in Fairmount to houses that closed last week in Alliance.
How I Got Here
I started in the U.S. Air Force as a firefighter in the Tech Services Division. That’s where the habits came from: check everything, assume nothing, and write down what you found so the next person doesn’t have to guess. After the service I spent ten years in the home improvement industry, which is where I learned how houses are actually built, how they’re repaired, and how the shortcuts get hidden.
Inspecting was the natural next step. It’s the job where both of those backgrounds matter every day: the discipline to look at every system the same way every time, and the construction knowledge to tell you which findings are normal for a home this age and which ones are going to cost you.
What You Can Expect
Every inspection meets or exceeds the TREC Standards of Practice, and most go well past them. You get a report within 24 hours, with photos of every finding and a plain-English task for each, organized so you can tell a safety concern from a $200 fix to a $20,000 one. You’re welcome to attend the whole inspection, and the walkthrough at the end, where I show you what I found and what it means, is the part clients tell me they value most.
I’ll also tell you what I don’t do. I don’t inspect wells or test water; I’ll connect you with someone who does. I don’t do repairs on homes I inspect, and I don’t take referral fees from contractors. The only thing I’m selling is the truth about the house.

Ricky was informative when I called to ask basic questions about the process. Later, when I called to hire him, he was able to get to my home inspection quickly and handled the coordination. I met him at the house towards the end and he walked me through the findings verbally. Upon sending me the official inspection report, he was extremely detailed and extensive. Additionally, he sent out informative homeowner maintenance timelines with his report. He also provides a repair request tool that is digital and interactive. It allows you to select items that you desire with options for repair or cash options. It is very handy in both negotiating with seller and setting up maintenance repairs with individual vendors. I had no idea that was included in his service and would definitely be selling point, despite his personable and professional services. Pictures are included and can be added in your pdf creations through this tool. I would definitely recommend him to anyone needing a home inspection.Posted on Google![]()

Ricky was incredibly quick to respond and schedule my inspection in less than 24 hours and that was greatly appreciated! Larry was my inspector and arrived on time and ready to go! He did a thorough job and explained his findings to me. Both are very professional and were great to work with. I had my inspection report back that same evening. Highly recommend!Verified by TrustindexTrustindex verified badge is the Universal Symbol of Trust.
